We were assigned to go back and revise one of our projects from the semester based on the constructive comments we were given about it during critique. This project of mine never got a chance to be critiqued in class but I wanted to go back and edit this one because out of all of the projects we did, I was most unhappy with this one. I felt like I basically didn't do enough with it. Therefore, I went back and added the birds, and now I feel like the composition is much more interesting.

Blast from the past
In my final presentation for computers class I mentioned a project I did that involved 100 6x6 squares. However I only showed one, and people mentioned they wanted to see more. I have a handful I chose that I really liked that I scanned so I thought it would be good to put them up on here.
An interesting website
http://myloveforyou.typepad.com/
This website has everything, so many different artists to look at, and they're all awesome. I love looking at stuff like this in my free time because it gives me ideas and inspiration, and I think it's really important to stay inspired to create.

Always looking up
One of our first assignments in drawing was to draw the sky. And that was pretty much up to your interpretation. These are some pictures I took to go along with the drawings. I really liked this assignment because it made me realize how interesting the sky actually is. Now I admire it every day.
A bump in the road
Everyones entitled to a flop project right? We had an assignment in 2D that dealt with pattern and patterns of behavior and mine didn't quite hit the mark. My concept was anxiety in the form of lip biting, it was probably the most personal I've ever gotten in a project and I had a hard time with it. Although I put a lot of hard work into it and was really proud of my end result and felt great afterward... until the critique. My teacher wasn't satisfied, to put it lightly, and pretty much wanted me to change everything about it. I however disagreed because I felt like it was my own feelings and emotions on the page and how they were displayed was how I see them, And art is perceived differently by everyone. I agreed with what she had to say but I guess I was mostly just disappointed because of how much work had gone into it and because it was such a personal project I felt a little bit attacked. But thats just another burden that comes with being an artist.
I have a wooden soul
A couple of weeks ago, we got an assignment in 3D to create an extension of our bodies, in wood. I took the metaphorical route and chose to create my soul. My 3D teacher Rob D'Amico always shows us interesting artists, and one guy he showed us (unfortunately I forget his name) used white candles to represent souls. I took that idea and created a box on silver wire that can be worn as a necklace. The construction was rough, because I'm not much of a wood person. But after I painted it and added the wire it came together and was better than I expected it would turn out.
Silkscreening
A recent project in my computers class incorporated silkscreening. I was extremely excited about it from the beginning due to the fact that I love hands on art, and to take a break from the computer. Also because I had never done silkscreening but had always wanted to try it. We first drew out a simple design on illustrator and our teacher set up the screens for us overnight and showed us the process in class. We then were allowed to mix any colors we wanted and print away! My design was an elephant (usually found in my work because they're my favorite animal) and I wanted to make it cute and comical so I added sunglasses. I liked the way mine turned out, and I loved the process so much I decided to take a printmaking class next semester!
Heres the illustrator drawing I started off with:
And this is one of the many prints I ended up with:
